Every December, hundreds of volunteers come together to bring the Airdrie Festival of Lights to life. From welcoming visitors to helping families make memories, every volunteer plays a part in keeping this community tradition free and accessible to everyone. Whether you have one evening to give or several, there's a place for you on our team!

FIND YOUR WAY TO GET INVOLVED
From welcoming visitors and helping in Santa's Gift Shop to tending the fires, driving our miniature trains and working behind the scenes, there are plenty of ways to lend a hand.
Volunteer on your own, bring your family or friends, or gather your coworkers for a unique team-building experience. Local nonprofit and youth groups can also raise funds for their own activities through our Group Fundraising Program.
And while December is our busiest time, there's plenty happening behind the scenes throughout the year for those who would like to stay involved.
Little Bits of Light!
The Airdrie Festival of Lights is organized and operated by an independent, volunteer-run nonprofit Society, with hundreds of community volunteers bringing the Festival to life each December.
It takes approximately 1,500 volunteer hours to set up the Festival and another 1,500 to take it down, with each accomplished in roughly two weeks.
The work doesn't change. The only thing that changes is how many people we have to share those hours with.
The more hands we have, the lighter the work for everyone!

Our Independent Fundraising Program helps youth ages 14–18 raise funds for the activities they love by volunteering at the Festival.
