Every December since 1996, the Airdrie Festival of Lights has brought our community together in Nose Creek Park. What began as a local idea has grown into one of Airdrie's most enduring holiday traditions, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors each season.

Operated by the Airdrie Festival of Lights Society, the Festival is powered by volunteers, community partners and sponsors who help us keep the experience accessible while creating opportunities to give back to the community we call home.

Our Vision

The Airdrie Festival of Lights was founded on a simple idea: bringing people together through an affordable, family-friendly holiday experience while making Airdrie a destination for visitors from across Southern Alberta. From the beginning, the vision was to create something our community could build, support and take pride in.

That vision continues to guide us today. Through the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our community, we strive to keep the Festival accessible while providing meaningful fundraising opportunities for local nonprofit organizations.

Together, we're creating lasting memories, strengthening our community and keeping a cherished holiday tradition GLOWing for generations to come.

The Community Behind the Lights

The Airdrie Festival of Lights is created and operated by an independent, volunteer-run non-profit Society. We do not receive annual operating funding from the City of Airdrie.

Each year, hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, community partners and visitors help make it possible to keep the Festival free to attend. Planning and preparation continue throughout the year, long before the first lights come on in December.

And the impact reaches well beyond Nose Creek Park. Since 1996, AFOLS has returned more than $500,000 to over 50 charities, youth groups and non-profit organizations through community giving and fundraising opportunities.
